The lower Villa “ATHENA” is adjacent to a more than one-hundred year old structure comprising two sections: the so called “stegadi” in the traditional local architectural terminology and a room that happens to be an example of one of the oldest stone buildings of the past century on the island.
These rooms have 1-meter thick stone walls while one of them has been fully renovated and converted into one of the bedrooms with a traditional fireplace .
The ground floor of the main house has:
Two bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom each
A fully equipped kitchen, an open elevated dining area, a spacious sitting room and an extra bathroom
It has to be noted, that all rooms are paved with schist stone slate floors derived from local Kean rock.
The first floor has:
Two bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom each
A three-level balcony with far-reaching views on the hilly countryside while further in the horizon guests can gaze at the capital Ioulis “Chora” and the port of Korissia
All bedrooms have wide screen satellite TV sets and WiFi access is serving all the entertaining dining areas and the living room
The front of the villa is lined by tall palm trees among other ones and offers pretty views on a fir/pine tree garden
At the side of the building there is a wide terrace with sitting and barbecue facilities framed by seasonal plants and flowers while a veranda is offering the guests picturesque views
Attached to the terrace, at a slightly lower level, is the private large swimming pool, which has been designed to follow the curves of the adjacent rock full of local flora and aromatic herbs
There is, also, a spacious roofed pool bar with a wooden veranda fully equipped for the exclusive use of the villa guests, however, the door leading to the pool can be locked for privacy reasons if this is desired
Around the pool there are abundant olive trees and local herbs growing on the rock that delight the visitors’ senses.
